Salary is not everything, but almost

This idea stems from the popular Great Place to Work , a trust index prepared by the research consultancy with the same name that annually launches the ranking of the companies best valued by their employees, and which last year placed Liberty Seguros at the top of the Spanish list in the category of entities with more than 1,000 workers.
According to the consultancy, companies such as Liberty Seguros have appropriate facilities to meet the needs of workers (dining areas, relaxation ...), flexible hours, the possibility of teleworking and salary parity.
As can be seen, this index includes variables that go beyond money or salary to determine the degree of employee satisfaction. The reconciliation of work and personal life, stability, social benefits, professional development, work environment, leadership style, workload organization, internal communication or pride of belonging appear as determining indicators of the time to make the famous valuation.
However, while it is true that a good work environment, the possibility of reconciling work and family life, and the satisfaction of doing things well is better than a large payroll, the fact that the latter is high helps, and a lot, in achieving the rest of the criteria.
Insufficient pay, main cause of labor nonconformity
In our country, more than 72% of workers are not satisfied with their employment because they consider that the remuneration they receive is not enough, although it is true that the salary level varies significantly depending on the sector in which we find ourselves, the autonomous community, age, sex, type of company and degree of responsibility. For example, the difference in salaries between the industrial sector and the service sector reaches 8,000 euros per year, a figure that falls very short if we transfer the comparison to the finance or consulting sector.
