Low budget? Delicious easy and healthy recipes - desserts
Many times our way of saving on food is to skip dessert with the excuse that "it is not healthy" that way we also convince ourselves that we are losing weight and taking care of our health.
However, this is not always the case, there are many healthy recipes that you can make with a very low budget and that also provide you with a quantity of nutrients, here are some ideas:
Easy, fast and delicious desserts with which you will save money
1- Strawberries with orange
If we buy them in season they are very cheap since we can easily buy up to a kilo for just over € 2, and although this fruit is delicious by itself it gains an extra charm when we combine it with orange juice.
You only need to remove the leaves of the strawberry and cut the fruit into small pieces, the size you like best. Then place them in a bowl and pour the juice of an orange over them, take them with a spoon and enjoy the sweet flavor of this combination.
Note: Some people add a tablespoon of sugar to the mix if they notice the very acidic orange, however here we look for healthy recipes so making it or not is your choice.
2- Fruit smoothies
Fruit smoothies are very simple and also provide us with a multitude of vitamins and minerals. Our advice is to make a large glass and store it in the fridge, so we will have a refreshing sweet for dessert and a snack.
The smoothies are made by mashing the fruit with a mixer and adding a little milk. If you don't like milk or are lactose intolerant, try this trick:
Beat the egg white with the mixer until it acquires a liquid and whitish consistency, then add to the fruit mash and stir thoroughly. You will get a texture very similar to what you get with milk.
You can also use this preparation in milk shakes and even add the yolk separately to improve consistency and provide satiety. The smoothie is still cheap but this time it has a gourmet consistency and it fills us up for longer.
3- Homemade fruit yogurts
Crush the fruit you want to flavor the yogurt and place it at the bottom of the glass, then pour the yogurt into the glass and sprinkle pieces of the same fruit on top. If we want to give a crunchy touch we can also sprinkle pieces of dried fruit that we previously cut with a mortar.
We can also change the natural yogurt for fresh cheese. Whichever version you choose, it is a great dessert to prepare with children.
4- Fruit jelly
The gelatin that we can find in the supermarket is very cheap and with a package we can prepare more than 12 glasses of gelatin.
You just have to melt it in a saucepan with hot water, pour the juice of the fruit you want into the mixture and let it cool. You can give more grace to the recipe by putting pieces of fruit inside the glass before pouring the gelatin, that way they will stay inside and eating it will be more fun!
