Ben Pearson starts in scheduled AFC Bournemouth roster against Preston North End

Saturday’s Preston North End starting XI will be hoping to hold onto their spot for Wednesday night’s championship shock at AFC Bournemouth.

The Lilywhites were winners 2-0 at home against Luton Town as Emil Riis increased his goal tally to 11 in all competitions this season.

North End’s next mission is as difficult as it gets with a trip to take on the league leaders.

Scott Parker’s men have yet to lose in the league, with a remarkable record of 11 wins and four draws in 15 outings.

PNE head coach Frankie McAvoy has stayed true to his 3-5-2 form pretty much all season and you wouldn’t expect him to return to the South Coast.

One of his main calls will be whether he should stay with Tom Barkhuizen at right-back as the No.29 impressed there last time when it was not his natural position.

McAvoy’s midfielder did the trick last weekend, but Daniel Johnson and Ryan Ledson could come into his thinking as always.

In the absence of new injury concerns, Sean Maguire and Emil Riis should continue to team up in attack.

Matthew Olosunde is still working out in his top form and making his first appearance of the season.

Josh Murphy (ankle), Izzy Brown (ACL), Ched Evans (foot) and Connor Wickham (hamstrings) will all be absent.

For Bournemouth, former PNE player Ben Pearson will be desperate to start and may well do, having come off the bench at half-time in the Cherries’ previous win at Reading.

Jordan Zemura, Gary Cahill and Lloyd Kelly all had injury doubts but look set to be fit enough to start if they’re called up again.

PNE XI planned: Iversen; van den Berg, Bauer, Hughes; Barkhuizen, Whiteman, McCann, Browne, Earl; Riis, Maguire

Predicts Bournemouth XI: Traverse; Stacey, Cahill, Kelly, Zemura; Pearson, Lerma, Billing; Christie, Solanke, Lowe
