Bournemouth given a boost for automatic promotion race with Nottingham Forest

Bournemouth have picked up a double injury ahead of their crucial clash with Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

Ahead of their trip to Ewood Park, Scott Parker has revealed that Jordan Zemura and Todd Cantwell are back in contention. The Cherries play their second game on the road in the space of five days on Saturday, before hosting automatic promotion rivals Nottingham Forest at Vitality on Tuesday night.

In his pre-match press conference, Parker gave an update on the squad ahead of the final three outings of the campaign. He said: “There are no new injuries. Todd Cantwell trained for the first time today after a back injury.

“JZ has also been back on grass for a few days now so he can come on for the weekend. Other than that everyone came through the Swansea game well.”

Bournemouth currently sit in the last automatic promotion spot in the Championship and are three points clear of Forest, who sit third ahead of Huddersfield. The Cherries end the season at home against Millwall, while Forest face Swansea City this weekend and finish the campaign at Hull City.

However, Forest boss Steve Cooper still believes his side still have a long way to go in their quest to join Fulham and secure automatic promotion spots. He said: “It seems like a mile away. You saw how intense tonight was against Fulham who were desperate to keep winning like they have done all season and we had to match that.”
