Council aims to help tourism businesses regain their full strength as industry recovers from pandemic impact

A new consulting firm has been set up to help tourism businesses in Northern Ireland recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

DP Consultancy is the brainchild of industry mainstay Diane Poole OBE and will provide strategic advice and support to players in the tourism, travel and leisure industry, including strategy development, networking and lobbying, mentoring of individuals and teams and crisis management.

“The past 12 months have been extremely difficult for everyone involved in the travel and tourism sector, one of the hardest hit industries in our local economy,” said Diane. “However, as the green shoots of positivity appear with the continued easing of lockdown restrictions, now is the time for the industry to reset to prepare for the reboot.

“Through DP Consultancy, I want to use my 40 years of experience, my skills and my network of contacts to help organizations, groups or individuals who wish to redefine their objectives in the sector and plan their growth again.

Diane joined NI Railways in the 1970s and has since gained extensive experience in a number of industry sectors including ferry travel, destination marketing and the development of strategic partnerships.

She has also held a number of advisory positions on the Board of Directors, including President of Causeway Coast and Glens Tourism Partnership for over 15 years and in 2009 she was awarded an OBE for her services to the tourism industry. tourism in Northern Ireland.
