Covid: 552 cases recorded in Dorset in past 24 hours

A TOTAL of 552 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Dorset in the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

The latest government figures show 552 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4 p.m. on Monday, October 18.

In the Dorset Council area, 276 new cases have been reported. Since the start of the pandemic, 30,398 cases have been confirmed in this area.

In the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council region, there have been 1,690 cases of Covid-19, with a case rate of 445 per 100,000 people.

There have been a total of 276 new cases recorded in the BCP Council area, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic to 48,672.

The seven-day rolling period for BCP is 1,393 cases, with a case rate of 350.9 per 100,000 people.

During the coronavirus pandemic, 79,070 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Dorset.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area has recorded 147 new cases of the coronavirus. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 14,230 in the New Forest.

The seven-day total for New Forest is 770 with a case rate of 428.6 per 100,000 people.

In the UK, there were a total of 49,156 new cases. There have been 8,497,868 confirmed cases recorded in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
