Covid: 553 cases recorded in Dorset in past 24 hours

A TOTAL of 553 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Dorset in the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

The latest government figures show 553 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17.

In the Dorset Council area, 274 new cases have been reported. Since the start of the pandemic, 39,064 cases have been confirmed in this area.

The seven-day rolling period for the Dorset Council region is 1,920 cases, with a case rate of 505.5 per 100,000 population.

A total of 279 new cases have been recorded in the BCP Council area, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic to 57,634.

The seven-day rolling period for BCP is 2,214 cases, with a case rate of 557.7 per 100,000 people.

During the coronavirus pandemic, 96,698 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Dorset.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area has recorded 98 new cases of the coronavirus. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 18,008 in the New Forest.

The seven-day total for New Forest is 761 with a case rate of 423.6 per 100,000 people.

Across the UK, there have been a total of 37,243 new cases, meaning there have been 9,637,190 confirmed cases recorded in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
