Covid: 639 new cases recorded in Dorset in past 24 hours

IN the past 24 hours, a total of 639 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Dorset, according to the latest statistics.

The latest government figures show 639 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 17.

In the Dorset Council area, 361 new cases have been reported. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been 30,122 confirmed cases in this region.

The seven-day rolling period for the Dorset Council region is 1,572 cases with a rate of 413.9 per 100,000 population.

In the BCP Council area, there have been a total of 278 new cases, bringing the total number since the start of the pandemic to 48,432.

The seven-day rolling period for the BCP zone is 1,278 cases, with a case rate of 321.9 per 100,000 people.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area recorded 155 new cases bringing the number of confirmed cases for the area to 14,230.

The seven-day rolling period for the New Forest is 732 with a case rate of 407.5 per hundred thousand people.

Across the UK, 45,140 new cases were recorded today, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 8,449,165.
