Dorchester Town rushes to sign Callum Buckley until next season

DORCHESTER Town pulled off a blow by announcing the permanent signing of defender Callum Buckley from Hayes & Yeading United.

Versatile defender Buckley, formerly of Aldershot and Weymouth, has signed until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Making a total of 17 appearances over a number of Hayes & Yeading’s monthlong loan spells this season, Buckley has impressed in center defense or left-back.

He had formed a solid partnership with Thiago Caze da Silva in the Magpies rearguard and, after being called up by United, Dorchester decided to end his season in a zigzag way.

Dorchester boss Glenn Howes told the club’s media team: “We are delighted to welcome Callum back to the Avenue on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell.

“Callum has proven to be an extremely popular member of the team and has been missed a lot since being called up by Hayes & Yeading, his qualities on the pitch speak for themselves.

“It gives us great pleasure to confirm Callum’s signing for this season and next season; it has been a great effort by everyone at the club to make it happen and it’s also fantastic to work with Dorchester Town. Buckley will go directly to the Magpies team to face Gosport tomorrow (3pm).
