Low-cost airline easyJet is launching two new routes from Bournemouth Airport.
The carrier’s inaugural flight to Belfast will take off on Wednesday, May 26, while its first to Edinburgh will depart on Thursday.
The announcement comes as one of the airline’s UK bosses has said vaccine passports should not be the “end game” of air travel.
Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager for easyJet, said BusinessLive full recovery of aviation could be in three years.
“The longer the pandemic, the longer the recovery will take. Recovery may not take place until 2023-2024 or beyond, â€she said.
“We don’t believe that a vaccine passport should be your gateway to travel due to age, cultural beliefs or medical reasons. If that makes it easier to get around, that’s one thing, but it shouldn’t be the end of the game. â€
EasyJet, which recorded a half-yearly loss of £ 701million, also criticized the government for its ‘confusing’ messages about international travel.
Half of the low cost airline’s routes are outside the UK, most within the EU.
Britain reopened its border last week to a handful of so-called “green list” countries, including Portugal, Iceland and Israel, where quarantine is not required.
Vacationers are also allowed to travel to Orange List countries, such as France, Greece and Spain, but should be prepared to self-isolate on return.
Flights are widely available to Orange List countries – and it’s not illegal to travel – but some ministers, including Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, have urged travelers to avoid them, while others indicated that this was acceptable.
Johan Lundgren, managing director of easyJet, said the airline plans to “significantly increase” its flights for the summer to maximize opportunities in Europe.

Bristol is one of the budget airline’s largest bases outside of London, Ms Gayward said the city will add additional flights to Portugal later this year.
The airline is also launching flights from Bristol Airport to Mykonos, Santorini, Kos and Preveza on July 7.
“The Southwest is very important to us,†Ms. Gayward added. “We will react very quickly to any changes so that we can add theft if necessary. We have added more routes and we have plenty of them in the coming months. “
