The 12 presets (see below) were narrowed down from dozens of entries by a panel of judges led by Bettys boss Simon Eyles. Speaking about the judging process, Mr Hankinson said: “When we decided to become title sponsor of the Harrogate Business Awards, I knew straight away that I wanted to be part of the judging process. The awards are so important in celebrating all that is great about business in our region, providing a platform for so many great companies to grow even further and inspire the wider business community around them.

“We had our work cut out for us this year with so many great entries. It is inspiring to read stories of team successes and great individual achievements, some under very difficult circumstances. I was looking for good examples to showcase the hard work, effort, innovation and creativity of the nominees, so I could get a sense of the tenacity and dedication of those involved. I was also looking for original ideas and those who sought to disrupt their industries in the best way possible. That’s what Ignition Group is all about.

The awards, which were launched in March, aim to identify and celebrate the best businesses in the district of Harrogate, Wetherby, Tadcaster and surrounding villages.

The winners will be announced at a scintillating awards ceremony hosted by Yorkshire broadcasting legend Harry Gration MBE, best known for presenting the BBC’s regional news programme. look north.
