Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has appointed Tommy Leung as Executive Director – Third Runway, effective February 1, 2022.
Tommy, who currently works as Assistant Manager – Third Runway Project Management, succeeds Kevin Poole who will retire on the same day.
As Executive Director, Tommy will oversee the development of the Three Track System (3RS), including project management and delivery. He will also oversee AAHK’s sustainability department.
“I would like to sincerely thank Kevin for his invaluable contribution over his three decades of exemplary service at the airport. Under his leadership, the 3RS project is progressing on schedule and on budget. I wish him all the best in his new page of life,” said Fred Lam, General Manager of AAHK. “I warmly welcome Tommy to the management team. With the completion of the roadway works, the third runway will enter service this year. Further construction work is progressing towards the goal of completing 3RS by 2024. I am confident that Tommy will continue to demonstrate his excellent management skills and professionalism to lead the team in achieving the goal. .
Tommy has held several management positions since joining AAHK in 1994, spanning terminal operations, technical services and major development projects at HKIA.
He served as Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong-Zhuhai Airport Management Company Limited from 2006 to 2009 and has worked as Deputy Director – Third Runway Project Management since 2016.
Tommy is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
