A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a woman and a man found at the same address.
The victims, a woman in her twenties and a man in her sixties, were found with serious injuries on the Buckland Avenue property, Basingstoke, Hampshire, on Sunday morning.
The arrested suspect would be known to the deceased.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: ‘We are investigating a double murder which took place in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 20 June) in Basingstoke.
âThe police were called in the early hours of the morning at a Buckland Avenue address.
âOfficers attended and found two people, a man in his sixties and a woman in his twenties, who had been seriously injured.
âBoth were pronounced dead at the scene.
âThe formal identification procedures are still ongoing.
âThis morning, officers arrested a man in connection with this investigation.
“The 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.”
Detective Superintendent Neil Corrigan said, âWe understand this incident will come as a shock to the local community.
âRest assured, we have a number of officers working hard in and around the scene to establish the exact circumstances, and one man is in custody.
âWe believe that all parties involved in this incident knew each other.
