Public appeal to find missing elderly woman in Bournemouth

THE OFFICERS are calling on the public to help them as they search for a missing 81-year-old woman in Bournemouth.


Joan Thomas was last seen around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28 at The Den, formerly Molly’s Den, on Francis Road.

She is believed to have left the scene and walked along Ringwood Road towards West Howe.


She is described as white, with fluffy red hair and wore glasses, a dark blue anorak, a hot pink T-shirt, a gray skirt and black boots with a fur trim.

She is said to be walking very slowly and carrying a brown colored handbag.


Chief Inspector Jamie Clark of Dorset Police said: ‘Joan can get easily confused and it is imperative that we find her as soon as possible.

“The agents are looking for her with the help of Dorset Search & Rescue (DorSAR), but we also need the public’s help.


“We’re posting two images of Joan, including a CCTV image capturing her just before she vanished in hopes it might jog someone’s memory.


“I urge anyone who has seen Joan, or a woman fitting the description given, to contact Dorset Police immediately.”
