Rightmove names coastal locations most ‘in demand’ for UK homebuyers for 2021

The UK’s largest real estate site Rightmove has revealed the most ‘requested’ coastal locations for buyers this year. Rightmove’s latest analysis of the year revealed that Bournemouth took first place as the most ‘requested’ coastal location for shoppers. The site based its analysis on millions of data points on supply, demand and prices in the UK property market and looked at coastal locations in 2021 versus 2020.

Another popular Cornish hotspot came in third, with house prices in St. Ives rising 15% from £ 411,484 to £ 473,161.

This year, the speed of the market has caused the time to find a buyer to reach an all-time high.

The average time to find a buyer over the whole of 2021 is 44 days, or 15 days faster than the average in 2020.

Saltcoats in Ayrshire was named the fastest market of 2021, averaging 19 days to find a buyer – 35 days less compared to last year.

“In terms of average asking price growth, owners in Cornwall and Devon are the real winners this year, with properties in some areas exceeding the national average, although that means it is getting harder and harder for some. inhabitants to climb the ladder.
