Poole North Travelodge, at Fleets Corner Business Park, is the second of the budget chain hotels to open in the city.

It is one of 17 new hotels the group will open in 2021, as part of a £ 175million investment across the UK.

Carlos Barata, hotel manager of the new Poole North Travelodge, said: “Poole and the Dorset region are one of the UK’s top holiday destinations, attracting millions of visitors each year, and with over Brits on holiday at home this year are ready for a very busy 2021.

“Our hotel will be a magnet in attracting more visitors to the area, which is great news for the local economy.

“As research shows, our guests will spend on average double the price of their room during their stay at local businesses, which equates to an annual spend of several million dollars.”

Poole North Travelodge, the seventh Travelodge to open in Dorset, has 81 rooms.

With a restaurant and on-site parking, the hotel is already open to business guests, with the main opening scheduled for May 17.

Rooms, available from £ 29, feature Travelodge Dreamer king beds, charging stations, bathrooms with power showers, air conditioning, TVs, WiFi and tea / coffee making facilities free.

Carlos said: “I am honored that my hotel is one of the 17 hotels Travelodge is opening this year and it is great to mark its release from the lockout with the opening of a second hotel in Poole.

“It was very difficult to prepare to open a hotel in the event of a pandemic, but I am extremely proud to have put together a fantastic team.

“I was looking for people who are passionate about providing excellent customer service and I am delighted to have a great team of local people.

“I received a record number of nominations and was overwhelmed by the record number of high caliber nominations received.

“Because we offer flexible working hours, we have attracted many parents because they can work around school and move up the career ladder while raising their families.

“My team and I are working tirelessly to make our hotel open to leisure guests starting May 17, 2021.”
