GEORGETOWN, Ohio – While the Brown County Seniors Renewal Tax of 0.8 million / five years was widely passed in the Nov. 2 election, the new Brown County Health District of 0.8 million / five years (Brown County Dept. of Health) Tax Levy did not get a majority of the vote on election night.

There were 3,622 (67.99%) voting for the Brown County Senior Services Tax and only 1,705 (32.01%) voted against the tax.

With respect to the Brown County General Health District tax levy, 3,168 (59.46%) voted against the levy and 2,160 (40.54%) voted for the levy.

Another issue on the Ripley ballots for November 2 was the question of the sale of the Ripley public water system, which was largely outdated with 314 (79.90%) voting in favor of selling the system. water and only 79 (20.10%) voting against the sale of the water system.

The Brown County Rural Water Association submitted the bid for the public water supply system which was accepted by Ripley Village Council ahead of the November 2 election.
