World Oceans Day: Photos Celebrate Poole Bay

[ad_1]

IT’S World Oceans Day and to celebrate we took a look at some of the awesome photos of Poole Bay from our Camera Club.

Across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, we are fortunate to enjoy seven miles of beautiful sandy beaches and an epic coastline that is home to the second largest natural harbor in the world.

Our Blue Flag beaches are among the best in the world and have been named the best in the country.

Not only are our coastal waters a haven for residents and visitors, but they are also home to a wide range of vibrant wildlife, including dolphins and seals.

The protection and management of the coast, in combination with the sea wall to protect the top of the cliff from erosion, is necessary to maintain our iconic beach profile.

As part of their ongoing maintenance plans, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council are currently filling eight sections of Bournemouth and Poole beach with sand as part of a £ 7.5million project to ensure that the waterfront remains able to withstand extreme storms.

A stunning photo shared earlier today by the Love Poole Facebook tourism page garnered over 650 likes on World Oceans Day.
