Crowds were large and the rain held off as Fayette, Clinton and Highland counties joined forces to host the first Battle of the Tri-County Bands Friday night on Sugartree Street in downtown Wilmington. The venue for the free event will rotate between the three counties each year. The executive directors of each local tourism board collaborated and each selected a group to represent their county: Filo Beddoe of Highland County, who fans chose as the inaugural trophy winner; Clinton County Reeking Havoc; and Sean Poole & Buckin’ Krazy of Fayette County.
