HINESVILLE, GA – The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 – 2022 Class of Leadership Liberty. Leadership Liberty is entering its 18th year of the established leadership program for Liberty County. Course participants participate in an intensive 9-month course, meeting at least once a month and learning about various functions of the community, including: county government, municipal government, public health, public education, tourism, development economical and much more. There is also a session that includes an overnight trip to Atlanta to observe the state government in action and meet with elected leaders. Applications are available from July 9, 2021.

The cost to participate is $ 700 for the entire year and includes overnight accommodation and food, as well as transportation to Atlanta. Since its inception with the Leadership Class of 2004-05, Liberty has graduated approximately 100 participants who live or work in Liberty County. These participants gained knowledge from various sectors of the community and took part in leadership modules provided by the Fanning Institute of Leadership at the University of Georgia.

“I strongly encourage our business and community leaders to participate in this program, so that better relationships between the business community and our local government can be established. I think it’s very helpful to learn how local government entities work and the enormous challenges that a growing community like Liberty County faces. Leadership Liberty can provide insight into the work our elected officials need to do and the importance of non-governmental organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce to the success of our county, ”said Leah Poole, CEO of the Chamber.

To receive a nomination, please contact Leah Poole at 912.368.4445 or email [email protected].
