Wolves are close to announcing the signing of Sasa Kalajdzic, with the striker having undergone his medical today.
The 25-year-old will become Wolves’ fourth new signing this summer, after the club finally agreed a deal with Stuttgart.
According to Fabrice Romanothe deal is expected to cost over £17m after add-ons.
He’s a signing Wolves have needed for some time.
The last two seasons have seen Wolves struggle to score goals, with Fabio Silva coming on as Raul Jimenez’s back-up.
Jimenez has struggled since returning from his fractured skull, and the club needed another centre-forward to come and offer competition to the Mexican.
Kalajdzic is expected to be announced by the club very soon, with some wondering if he could feature in Wolves’ next Premier League game against Bournemouth.
The game is tomorrow night at Vitality Stadium.
According to Express & Star reporter Liam KeenKalajdzic is ‘unlikely’ to face the Cherries.
It will likely mean another start for Jimenez, who will need a big performance on the south coast.
With Kalajdzic likely to be confirmed by the club ahead of the game, the 31-year-old could be determined to show Bruno Lage that he should continue to start him for the time being.
Wolves should beat Bournemouth without Sasa Kalajdzic
It will be a slight frustration if Wolves cannot field Kalajdzic against Bournemouth.
But realistically, Wolves have enough quality to beat the newly promoted side, who have just parted ways with Scott Parker.
The Cherries have conceded 16 goals in their last three games. Even for Wolves, who struggled to find the back of the net, this is a golden opportunity.
Hopefully Jimenez responds well to signing Kalajdzic and ends up on the scoresheet.
