Several emergency services respond to an overturned car

A car overturned on a busy road near Wimborne this afternoon, prompting several emergency services to respond.

Emergency services were called to a single vehicle accident on the B3082 Blandford road just before 3pm on Sunday November 13.

Two fire engines were present during the crash, involving only one car, along with the ambulance service and Dorset Police.

Witnesses say the road is passable towards Wimborne but is closed from Queen Elizabeth School. Towards Blandford.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Services said: ‘At 2.42pm DWFRS received calls for a traffic collision involving a vehicle.

“Two fire engines and two officers attended and the vehicle was brought to safety.

“Firefighters worked alongside the South West Ambulance Service and Dorset Police, and a stop message was given at 3.07pm.”

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We were called out at 2.30pm on Sunday November 13 to an overturned car on the B3082 Blandford Road.

“We went to the scene with the firefighters and the paramedics a little before 3 p.m.

“A car overturned on a grassy embankment. The driver was not injured.

“The road is closed but it should reopen very soon.”
