Former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca has established himself as a serious candidate to succeed Tottenham.
The Portuguese are said to be the first choice for new football manager Fabio Paratici and talks have taken place.
Paratici’s arrival at Spurs is expected to be announced in the coming days after leaving Juventus after a hugely successful 11-year stint and he is already involved in the long search for a manager at his new club.
It has been 52 days since Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho, who has since found work to replace Fonseca in Rome.
