This distinction rewards accommodation establishments which surpass their category and offer exceptional quality within the framework of their number of stars.

Rewards help guests find special places where hosts go the extra mile, regardless of the size, style or star rating of the accommodation.

The prestigious award comes after the 21-room hotel completed a renovation in early 2019 following the acquisition of the property by 40-year-old hotelier, international entrepreneur Peter de Savary.

Mr Savary grew up in Dorset and has a special affection for Sherborne, so he jumped at the opportunity to acquire the property in February 2018.
