Man airlifted to hospital after B3157 coastal road crash

A MAN was airlifted to hospital following a serious accident on a coastal road outside Weymouth.

Emergency services were called to report a collision involving a tractor and a motorcycle on the B3157 between Nottington Lane in Langton Herring and Rodden in Portesham at 10:10 am this morning (Tuesday September 21).

The road was closed because emergency services attended the scene. An air ambulance landed in the area to take a man seriously injured in the collision to hospital.

Road closures have been put in place between Portesham and Chickerell, with police advising motorists to find alternate routes.

Officers remain at the scene to recover the vehicles and investigate the circumstances of the collision.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: ‘We were called at 10:10 am to report a collision involving a tractor and a motorbike on the B3157 between Portesham and Chickerell.

“Agents intervened, as well as the ambulance service. Road closures have been put in place as emergency services respond to the incident.

“A man was taken to hospital by air ambulance with reportedly serious injuries. Police are still at the scene.
