Officers looking for a missing Wareham woman are asking the public for help in trying to find her.

Elke Jaeger, 61, was last seen at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday May 29 at her home in Nundico and by 3 p.m. she was in phone contact telling him she was going for a walk.

She was reported missing at 1:36 a.m. Sunday, although she was not found at home as expected.

Elke is described as being white, five feet six inches tall and of slim build. She has short blonde hair and blue eyes and wears glasses. She may be wearing leggings and a turquoise fleece vest.

Chief Inspector Matt Baxter of Dorset Police said: ‘Elke enjoys walking from Wareham over the bridge to Stoborough along the causeway, then from Nutcrack Lane to Ridge, to Redcliffe and back to Wareham along the river. However, we don’t know if this is the route she took yesterday.

“Officers have searched the area, but so far we have not found any sign of Elke and we are very concerned for his welfare as it is completely irrelevant.

“It would have been very busy in Wareham yesterday afternoon and I hope someone remembers seeing her and can help us find out where she may have been.

Anyone with information or knowledge about Elke’s whereabouts is urged to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, email [email protected] or call the 101, citing incident number 30:68.
