A total of 476 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Dorset

More than 450 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Dorset in the past 24 hours, according to the latest statistics.

The latest government figures show 476 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 5.

In the Dorset Council area, 189 new cases have been reported. Since the start of the pandemic, 17,261 cases have been confirmed in this area.

The seven-day rolling period for the Dorset Council region is 1,064 cases, with a case rate of 280.2 per 100,000 population.

There have been a total of 287 new cases recorded in the BCP Council area, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic to 35,879.

The seven rolling day period for PCO is 2,046 cases, with a case rate of 515.4 per 100,000 people.

During the coronavirus pandemic, 53,140 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Dorset.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area has recorded 77 new cases of the coronavirus. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 8,810 in the New Forest.

The seven-day total for New Forest is 444 with a case rate of 247.1 per 100,000 people.

In the UK, there have been a total of 31,808 new cases. There have been 6,014,023 confirmed cases recorded in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
